Status Shark Bass - Amazing 4 string UK made 24 fret bass w/case
Just in!!
And this is a keeper…..
Status Shark Bass (UK made in the 1990’s) that have quite the cult following online with avid owners raving about them and others lamenting it was the one that got away.
Status still operate out of the UK and have some amazing signature players in their legacy.
This is a genuinely high quality yet affordable bass with an amazing neck, great tuning stability, 24 super slick frets and a beautifully upgraded passive EMG pick up.
Rather rare on the second hand market (and only the second we’ve ever had in stock) this is a really timeless looking bass in Natural finish.
This beauty has had its original pickguard removed along the way and TMA says kudos to whoever did it. To our eyes it looks considerably better with the small aftermarket guard. NOTE: there are small marks where the screws used to live but the holes have been professionally filled.
The neck is amazing for someone wanting a ‘fast’, slimmer profile bass neck. It has a really unique feel that somewhat needs to be played to fully understand but guitarists and bassist alike have picked it up and all been surprised and impressed with the ergonomics.
Great access to upper frets with a lovely neck to body join (no plate), astounding feeling fretboard and almost perfect frets.
The passive EMG pick up provides a really nice, rounder P Bass style tone to our ears but where the P Bass can be considered by some to be a one trick pony the Status Shark Bass feels a lot more versatile. Even with just the single pick up you can generate numerous very usable tones just with the volume and tone working with the timber.
Bridge is solid and precise.
Comes with a quality foam hard case.
For this price it’s an absolute winner in our eyes.
