Tokai Blazing Fire Talbo Electric Guitar Wood Body - Silver MIJ - RARE
RARE & very hard to come by in Australia
The Tokai Blazing Fire Talbo was originally released in 1982 and included an aluminium body.
Due to the popularity of it's unique shape Tokai reissued these guitars in the late 90's, this time with a wood body as a result of customer feedback.
Whilst many believe Fender sued Tokai for their Fender 'copies' this isn't in fact acurate. Due to the quality workmanship of MIJ Tokai instruments Fender actually commissioned Tokai to make their MIJ Fender guitars from 1997-2015. In return Tokai agreed to make slight variations to the headstock and body shapes of their lines too close in shape to Fender. Tokai also went on to create some unique body shapes during this era - The Talbo being one of them. For those not familiar with Tokai guitars this should give you some confidence in the quality from these Japanese manufacturer.
This Tokai Blazing Fire electric guitar is in excellent condition for it's age and in perfect working order.
Visually unique the "Talbo" Tokai comes with a silver metalflake finish and white pickguard.
This wood-bodied reissue (as opposed to aluminium) sonically produces a range of tones similar to a Stratocaster. The trio of single coil pickups are wound fairly hot and provide a range of tonal options similar to what you'd expect from your favorite Fender, with the coils governed by a five-way pickup selector switch.
The bridge pickup is sparkly, while the "in-between" positions on the blade switch deliver a thinned out Strat-style quack, and the neck pickup has a harmonically rich sound with great midrange warmth, ideal for fat lead lines.
Weighs in at just over 3kgs.
The maple neck has a slender and fast-feeling C shaped profile with limited taper up the fretboard, measuring .840” deep at the 1st fret and graduating to .920” at the 12th.
Also in familiar Fender territory, the scale length is a full 25 1/2” scale, and the bone nut measures 1 11/16“ in width, providing comfortable string spacing. The slender headstock sports a set of six-on-a-side Kluson-style vintage tuners which hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, with a five-way pickup selector and Master Volume and Tone knobs directing the three hot Strat-style single coil pickups.
The back has a distinctive German Carve which accentuates the fluid lines of the body shape
A gigbag is included.
